The body responsible for
global payment card security has appointed its
first board of advisors, which include Tesco, British
Airways and a number of other British
organisations.
The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) is an independent
industry standards body providing management of the

basis.
The new board of advisors will represent nearly 200 PCI SSC
participating organisations and will provide critical feedback to
the ongoing enhancement of security standards, said the
Council.
The 14 advisors were elected by their peers to offer feedback on
behalf of financial institutions, merchants, processors, point of
sale (POS) suppliers, and industry associations.
The advisors are:
UK payment association APACS
Bank of America
British Airways
Chase Paymentech
First Data Corporation
JP Morgan Chase
Microsoft
Moneris Solutions Corporation
PayPal
Royal Bank of Scotland
Tesco Stores Ltd.
TSYS Acquiring Solutions
VeriFone Inc
Wal-Mart Stores
Other advisors are expected to be appointed in the coming months to
better reflect the needs of other geographic areas, including South
America and Asia.
