SAP is committed to sustainability, which the enterprise software maker sees not only as a moral obligation, but also as a business opportunity.

In 2009, the company announced a long-term strategic focus on sustainability, covering both its own operations and customer products for more sustainable business practices.

SAP announced a target of taking its carbon emissions back down to the levels of the year 2000 by 2020.

To achieve this and other sustainability targets, the company set up a cross-functional sustainability organisation led SAP's first chief sustainability officer, Peter Graf.

Computer Weekly's Warwick Ashford speaks to Graf about the business benefits of sustainability and to what extent these are understood by UK companies.
