Fujitsu abandons joint working

In January 2004 Fujitsu Services became the last supplier to be contracted as a local service provider to the national programme for IT in the NHS.

In January 2004 Fujitsu Services became the last supplier to be contracted as a local service provider to the national programme for IT in the NHS.

A key feature of its bid was joint working with BT, the LSP for London, and software supplier IDX to develop care records systems.

Earlier in the year the contractors admitted the implementation was running between six and nine months behind schedule. Fujitsu has now abandoned joint working with BT and IDX and will instead move its core application platform to Cerner.
