Microsoft sheds 5000 job losses after net income falls 11%

Microsoft has been hit hard by the downturn as businesses cut back on upgrading their IT during these tough economic conditions.

58 staff from Microsoft UK, representing 2% of the UK workforce are being made redundant, mainly in the company’s services and support groups, a spokes woman said.

Selling the value of upgrading to the latest  Windows is getting harder and harder. Personally, I still use Windows XP – and I have no intention to upgrade, at least not until my PC expires. I think this is one of the biggest issues MS faces. It’s software is rather good. PC users simply don’t upgrade  quick enough.
