The ExtraCare Charitable Trust has hired Carillion IT Services to provide a managed IT service to its 28 sites.

Charity ExtraCare provides housing and care for the elderly. It offers a range of activities to its residents, including IT and web surfing.

The managed service provided by Carillion IT Services, starting this week, will provide ExtraCare with an IT service desk, network management and server and desktop services.

These services will support around 80 staff at the charity's office in Coventry, and 160 staff across other sites in the Greater Midlands area.

Pam Harper, IT manager at ExtraCare, said, "Knowing our IT is in safe hands with Carillion will allow staff to concentrate on sustaining the highest quality of life possible for our residents."
