Just over 18 months ago I wrote a blog post about the media frenzy and public hysteria that was mounting over CERN’s Large Hadron Collider.
The speculation that the world was about to end was of course absolutely crazy, however, that post led to 48 comments and a lot of traffic as people joined in the debate passionately on either side.
But this time around the airwaves have been remarkably quiet about the threat of LHC sparking off a black hole that consumes us all… why is this? Probably because last time the frenzy was fuelled by media speculation and the media isn’t that interested in CERN and the Large Hadron Collider in 2010… “old news is no news” so they say!
Anyway for those of you who are interested in the massive computer experiments that accompany Cern’s experiment to find out more about the Big Bang theory then check out our article explaining the quantum leap the experiments at CERN mean for cloud computing.
