London law firm Charles Russell is future-proofing its e-mail management using a web-based system from Mimecast.

Following an office move the company wanted to reduce the time spent on managing e-mail. The company moved from a having an e-mail scanning service to a full management one to reduce the difficult task of e-mail archiving and ensure compliance with data protection legislation.

The deal also ensures the firm will have a record of all e-mails for a ten year period.

"Trying to anticipate the e-mail storage requirements for the next ten years, given the rate of growth in volume and size of e-mails over recent years, is a virtually impossible task," said Jon Gould, IT director at Charles Russell.

"For law firms, time is money and the ability to provide an uninterrupted e-mail service at all times, whether during unplanned service outages or simply whilst upgrading our Microsoft Office Exchange server, was a key benefit."
