More than one-third of chief information officers
believe that in two to five year's time, theirdatacentres will be unable to meetthe
rapidly growing demand for business services and applications,
according to research commissioned by Hewlett-Packard.
The "HP 2008 Data Center Transformation Survey" was conducted by
Penn, Schoen and Berland in February 2008.
HP used it to help launch a set of products and services
designed to help customers transform
their datacentres from a standalone collection of physical
assets, into a virtual and adaptive infrastructure designed to
rapidly meet changing business needs.
To meet this demand, HP is providing businesses with new tools
and strategies needed to address
top datacentre initiatives, including energy efficiency,
automation, virtualisation, consolidation and business
continuity.
These systems make up the HP
Data Center Transformation portfolio offering.
