Newly Weds Foods, a global food ingredients company with offices in the US and the UK, is using IBM’s SmartCloud to share recipes.
The SmartCloud service has been deployed to help the company’s chefs create and share recipes, reducing department travel and meeting costs by 10%.
Chefs at the company are using IBM SmartCloud for social business services to collaborate and share information and ideas online, including new region-appropriate recipes and menus, as well as ingredient lists for sauces, batters, breading and seasonings.
The cloud service also facilitates online meetings, social networking and brainstorming, saving Newly Weds Foods time and money on travel expenses, teleconference fees and in-person meetings, the company said.
The company’s IT department has also reduced expenses by using the IBM service to offer online training, rather than travelling to teach remote employees and new divisions how to use new and existing technology tools.
