Yorkshire Building Society is to install the BusinessObjects XI Release 2 business intelligence platform to support more than 500 managers and staff across its 131 offices.
The software will provide the building society with an integrated business intelligence platform for budgeting, planning, performance management, analysis and enterprise information management.
It will replace an ad hoc system based on consolidating data from Excel spreadsheets, which was labour intensive, time consuming and led to frequent inconsistencies in the data.
The new software includes key performance indicator dashboards and uses an Excel-based interface, to give users familiar spreadsheet formatting and calculating features.
Yorkshire Building Society chief operating officer Robert Jackson said the firm had chosen the BusinessObjects platform because it was scalable and could easily be expanded to users across all the organisation’s branches.
He added: “It will help us to improve performance in every area of the business, from faster and more accurate planning and budgeting, to meeting regulatory requirements and increasing productivity.”
Implementation of the new system will be managed by the Business Objects Global Services team.
