Emulex offers integrated support for serial storage protocols

Emulex has developed a family of embedded storage processor products that integrates support for the three main serial storage protocols.

The new products, developed in partnership with Intel, support Fibre Channel, SAS and SATA connectivity within a single device.

Designed for storage system providers that want to build flexibility into their external storage systems, the new family of Emulex storage processors are designed to support entry-level and enterprise-class storage systems.

The products include the Emulex IOP 502M, Emulex IOC 504 and Emulex IOP 504 processors.

The storage processors use underlying technology from the Intel IOP34x storage family and its 90 nanometer technology, along with Emulex's protocol engines and a common software interface for simplified migration.
