IBM has launched new software that provides staff and managers throughout a business with role-specific work environments.

Workplace for Business Strategy Execution is aimed at helping managers and staff make the connection between their activities and the wider business strategy.

IBM’s new product joins the race to produce software that aligns business practices with strategy.

This week, Microsoft announced its own new Office Business Scorecard Manager and forthcoming additions to its Excel and SharePoint packages in a bid to bring business intelligence into the office mainstream.

Workplace for Business Strategy Execution presents users with business data from a variety of sources accessed through intuitive dashboards that also allow staff to drill down for greater detail. Managers can use scorecards to track progress against company objectives. The software uses status maps and graphs to align business process tasks with strategic objectives.

IBM Workplace for Business Strategy Execution is available for SME use and departmental deployments at $99 (£55) per user and for larger businesses at $95,000 per processor.
