Balfour Beatty's health and safety auditors are processing up to a third more audits since the construction company rolled out a mobile data management system from O2.

Balfour Beatty's health and safety auditors are processing up to a third more audits since the construction company rolled out a mobile data management system from O2.

Auditors previously prepared written reports following site visits, which meant that serious faults were generally only corrected within three weeks. By using an XDA ll personal digital assistant connected to O2's GPRS network, they are able to create reports and transfer data  to central office while on site. Problems can also be digitally photographed and transmitted via the system.
