The t-zones mobile internet service already connects mobile subscribers to more than 1,000 external applications and a rich array of content across several countries.

The new portal will enable T-Mobile’s European operators to launch new services from one system, yet provide local languages and content for each country. The objective is to bring mobile applications to market quicker and more cost effectively.

LogicaCMG will provide integration and support for the portal development.

Kevin Cunnington, T-Mobile’s executive vice-president for Portals and Portal Infrastructure, said, “This deal allows us to migrate to a truly commoditised portal solution, underpinned by innovative hardware, software and hosting services.”

Derek Kemp, managing director for LogicaCMG UK telecoms, said, “Next-generation portals are fundamental to delivering 3G mobile data services.”
