The new investment into the Endeavour system is expected to deliver substantial business benefits and cost savings for the UK and Ireland operations as the company moves towards consolidating its operations onto a single system.
The system will improve the control of all aspects of Combined's accident and healthcare insurance business by consolidating all data related to the company's policies, policyholders, representatives and business units. The systems will also provide a single view of the whole business.
A large proportion of the systems integration and development work for the roll-out will be performed by LogicaCMG's international offshore facility in Bangalore, India, said analyst group Ovum.
Combined Insurance said the benefits of introducing the company-wide system include a reduction in the number of information repositories, increased data mining capabilities, automation of billing, increased marketing capabilities and improved competitiveness.
