The initiative, called PeopleSoft Now, has been put together to help users align their IT with PeopleSoft's product strategy, according to Steve Roop, vice-president of customer relationship management product marketing at PeopleSoft.
He said the upgrade programme should be particularly useful for former JD Edwards users in financial services.
Users in manufacturing are being channelled towards a revamped JD Edwards suite, called Enterprise One, which includes Youcentric, a customer relationship management system purchased by JD Edwards in 2002.
PeopleSoft wants other users, including those in financial services, telecommunications and hi-tech, to adopt its flagship Enterprise Product suite.
However, as many existing Youcentric users are in financial services, PeopleSoft has devised a special programme to help users migrate from Youcentric to PeopleSoft Enterprise.
Through the programme, PeopleSoft Global Services will provide customers who sign up before 21 December 2005 with a free technical upgrade using one of the company's software labs.
Additionally, the company will provide application management services for three months after the new software is deployed, with free access to 100 e-learning courses (Upgrade Passport) for five project team members for one year.
Users buying further PeopleSoft modules through the upgrade will be given £56,000 credit if the purchase is over £112,000.
