Emap invests in core IT
Emap, the UK's second largest magazine publisher, is rolling out Peoplesoft 8 financial management systems as part of a project...
Ian Griffiths, director of financial control at the publishing company, said, "Having completed a strategic review of all aspects of finance within our UK businesses it became clear that we needed to invest in our core infrastructure."
Research director at market analyst Giga, Paul Hammerman, said compared to client/server applications, an Internet-based system like Peoplesoft 8 allows companies to scale out to a greater number of remote sites.
Functions, such as self-service expense claims, budgeting and built-in analytical tools are key features of Peoplesoft 8 financial management system, Hammerman added.
