The UCCnet GLOBALregistry provides a repository of standards-based product information such as stock keeping unit numbers, size, availability and pricing for the CPG industry.
CommerceOne's Xpress Suite software, introduced earlier this week, is being positioned by the e-commerce software supplier as a packaged system and services designed to help retailers and suppliers within the CPG industries to share product information using the UCCnet standard.
The Registry acts as a point to which a manufacturer can publish its information and a retailer can subscribe to that information, according to Commerce One. Business process triggers within the system automate a resynchronisation between suppliers and retailers as product information changes.
Shawn Willett, principal analyst at Current Analysis, believes the software will act as a "seed product", allowing suppliers to comply quickly with the UCCnet standard as well as giving CommerceOne a foot in the door of large accounts.
The Commerce One Xpress Suite software is priced at $23,000 (£15,020) and is designed to be deployed in a matter of weeks.
