SPS Commerce has rolled out enhancements to its supply-chain integration service designed to further ease electronic enablement of retailers and distributors.

The enhancements in electronic enablement, catalogues, and transactions are all geared toward increasingly savvy suppliers who perceive themselves as customers than "victims" forced to drag themselves into the 21st century, said Jim Frome, executive vice-president and chief strategy officer of SPS.

On the supplier enablement front, the company unveiled four portal templates, each tailored to a distinct type of enablement program to help automate the supplier's setup.

The SPS catalogue service has been enhanced to support two new categories. First, it has been updated to provide native support of item data unique to product lines.

In addition, the company has upgraded its pricing management capabilities to provide advanced features for supporting promotional requirements of retailers.

Finally, SPS has upgraded its transaction service to provide users optional tools to drop into the Web forms environment to minimise the amount of data entry.
