The system, called Info-portal, pushes monthly sales results to staff across the bank's branches.
Staff will not require any formal training in the system as it integrates with its existing reporting system, Abbey National said.
The portal, from Blue Edge software, automatically distributes information from Abbey's reporting suite to employees via the bank's intranet. Information is colour-coded to highlight areas of concern and users can click on hyperlinks for further information. Users log-on to the portal via the Abbey Web site.
The software has been rolled out to more than 1,500 employees under the first stage, although Abbey plans to double the number of staff using the portal.
Business information is automatically incorporated into an Abbey database and checked for accuracy before being sent to the reporting system, supplied by Business Objects. The portal integrates with the reporting software and publishes the financial information via the company portal.
The portal will simplify the old system used by Abbey, which distributed sales information via e-mail and disc.
