Benetton venture United Web is employing the Blue Martini customer interactive system to enable a more personalised and convenient online consumer experience at its new Web site theEX.IT.

Targeting internationally-minded consumers, the site will be able to record the personal interests and shopping behaviour of regular customers.

The system will then provide personalised garment-purchasing services through any customer interaction point, whether online or through more traditional retail methods.

"The BlueMartini customer interactive system will enable United Web to better understand its global customers through robust data mining and analysis while creating highly personalised product assortments," said Monte Zweben, president and CEO of Blue Martini Software.

The theEX.IT site delivers targeted content covering entertainment, culture, travel and style in English, Italian and German. The site will be expanded in Europe by the end of November.
