Security and software remain areas that are continuing to attract IT spending with resellers also expecting their services to be taken up by more customers looking to outsource to a third-party.
An insight into the spending habits resellers are noticing from customers has been gained in the latest MicroScope UK Channel Direction Survey.
On the positive side security, outside services and software purchases are areas that resellers have tipped as spending hot spots with hardware and networking lagging behind.
The areas that the channel fears will be cut in ongoing tough economic conditions are staffing, hardware purchases and some software acquisitions.
When asked how the current economic conditions were impacting the market 29% described it as a minor negative factor with 16% going as far as to describe recent events as a positive for their businesses
