The Communications Alliance has released draft standards for customer equipment for the incoming broadband technology, VDSL2. The alliance is also seeking public comment on the standards.
By submitting your personal information, you agree that TechTarget and its partners may contact you regarding relevant content, products and special offers.
The standards are intended to ensure that suppliers can provide equipment compatible with the VDSL2 services when they are made available in Australia.
VDSL2 is expected to operate at more than 10 times the speed of existing ADSL technology in Australian.
A Communications Alliance working committee of technical experts from across the industry developed the draft standards. The draft is based on international recommendations and local concerns.
The opportunity to comment on the drafts expires 25 February 2008.
