Google and Salesforce.com support cloud computing application development

Antony Savvas

Salesforce.com has announced Force.com for Google App Engine to aid enterprise cloud computing strategies.

The offering is a Python-based library for applications running on App Engine. It enables simple and robust access to the Force.com web services API.

Using this library, App Engine developers can now build and deploy scalable web apps that manipulate and display data stored on the Force.com Salesforce development platform.

App Engine developers interested in building enterprise-class applications can now build anything from browser-based tools for members of their organisation, to personalised, customer-focused applications that scale to meet demand.
