Informatica has launched an on-demand service that integrates software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications with internal databases.
The company believes it is filling a gap whereby enterprises have had no simple solution to integrate data held off-premise in a SaaS application with data held in on-premise application software.

Using On Demand Data Replicator, customers can move corporate sales and marketing data hosted by Salesforce.com onto their own in-house Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases for backup or business intelligence. There’s no need to install any in-house data integration software so, claims Informatica, the integration process is simplified.
“Organisations can rapidly and cost effectively replicate their off-premise data to ensure all the transactional and master data is available on-promise as needed,” assured Sohaib Abbasi, chairman and chief executive of Informatica.
Cindy Warner, senior vice-president, global technology services, Salesforce.com added, “Data integration is essential for companies who want to take advantage of this new era of innovation and creativity in on-demand computing known as The Business Web.”
Informatica is offering a free 30-day trial for salesforce.com customers.
