Nokia adds search function to mobile devices

Antony Savvas

Nokia has developed a Mobile Search application which can now search for content stored on devices as well as the mobile internet.

With the enhanced application, users will be able to search for e-mails, text messages, calendar entries, videos and music files on their devices.

Just like with desktop search applications on a PC, Nokia Mobile Search indexes the information stored on compatible Nokia devices and then lets the user find what they want.

"Nokia Mobile Search has proven to be a hit with people who want access to information and services at their fingertips, and now we're bringing that same ease of use to search for content you already have on your Nokia device," said Ralph Eric Kunz, Nokia vice-president for multimedia experiences.

The application is available in over 40 languages, and comes embedded in a variety of Nokia devices. It can also be downloaded for compatible devices from http://www.nokia.com/mobilesearch.
