KnowledgeTree licensing programme

KnowledgeTree has launched Powered by KnowledgeTree, an original equipment manufacturer licensing programme enabling KnowledgeTree partners to leverage the document management system within their own branded applications.

KnowledgeTree is a free, commercial open source and Web-based document management system built on the open source LAMP stack. It is one of the leading PHP-based commercial open source document management software project in the world, with more than 240 000 downloads to date. The application is available in three editions: KnowledgeTree Enterprise, KnowledgeTree SMB and KnowledgeTree Open Source.

The commercial editions provide all the functionality of the Open Source edition and offer
extra functionality including a WebDAV Integration Server and Client Tools for Windows, providing a familiar Windows Explorer and Microsoft Office interface into the document repository and direct-to-repository scanning capability.

The program provides partners with access to the document management feature-set of KnowledgeTree Enterprise Edition. Partners may elect to use the KnowledgeTree Commercial Installer platform to package their own-branded version of KnowledgeTree for the Microsoft Windows or Linux platforms, or may embed the application within their own offering.

The KnowledgeTree Enterprise Edition document management system boasts a plug-in and user interface template architecture which, say the authors, should significantly reduce the cost of customisation and extension.
