IBM has published an SOA Business Catalogue to make it easier for companies to adopt service oriented architectures.
SOAs enable firms to build applications quickly and flexibly in response to the changing needs of their business.
The SOA Business Catalogue is a compendium of reusable templates, software code, intellectual property and best-practice business models for 15 industries.
It initially has 600 reusable resources and is designed to accelerate SOA creation and solve specific business problems, said IBM. It includes adapters that allow IT departments to connect their existing environments to web services.
The catalogue also contains tools designed to help budding SOA users in the finance, insurance and health sectors, among others.
IBM said it would include more than 3,000 SOA assets by the end of the year.
Some of the resources are free, and others are paid for.
