Another CFO quits Oracle

Antony Savvas

Oracle has lost its second chief financial officer in four months with the resignation of current incumbent Greg Maffei.

Maffei replaced Harry You this summer, who had himself served only nine months at Oracle. Like You, Maffei said he was leaving Oracle for a position elsewhere.

Oracle has been involved in a series of major acquisitions this year.

Oracle joint president Safra Catz will now replace Maffei as CFO while continuing with existing responsibilities.

Maffei, formver CEO at 360networks and a former senior executive at Microsoft, is set to leave the company on 15 November.

“Greg has told us he's looking at a terrific professional opportunity,” said Oracle chief executive officer Larry Ellison, “We wish him well.”
