Oracle reports revenue growth in EMEA region

Oracle's Europe, Middle East and Africa division has reported a 9% revenue growth for the first quarter of its 2005 financial year.
Throughout the quarter it demonstrated continued demand across key industry sectors in Western Europe and the EU enlargement region, with public and private sector organisations opting for its Database Application Server and E-Business Suite.

It reported increased customer awareness and understanding of its grid computing products.

“I see a pleasing improvement in the main western markets, such as France, Netherlands and Spain,” said Sergio Giacoletto, executive vice-president, Oracle EMEA.

“Central and Eastern European countries show continued good growth as they seek to compete effectively in the expanded European arena,” he said.

“Public sector, telecommunications and financial services are providing us with several large deals, and increasingly in healthcare, we seem to be emerging as the supplier of choice," Giacoletto added.
