HBOS to boost training efficiency with Enlight deal

Computer Weekly Reporter

HBOS has signed an agreement with Enlight to use its IT Rollout and Training product across the bank’s entire group of companies.

The deal covers software, services and maintenance for systems covering about 22 business units and 67,000 employees

HBOS will use Enlight’s Adaptive Learning Suite product to create, deploy, manage and provide interactive training and performance support for staff.

The contract builds on HBOS’s initial contract with Enlight in 2002, when the Halifax Mortgage Business division used Enlight products to support the training requirements for an internal application.

Linda Gerraghty, operational training consultant at HBOS said, "We have successfully worked with Enlight and the Adaptive Learning Suite software on multiple solutions in training for colleagues in the retail part of the group. In a business as fast moving as HBOS, it is vital that colleagues are as up to date as possible with the latest developments."

In April 2005 HBOS delayed a project to create a single banking platform following problems installing Microsoft Windows XP across the group, which includes Halifax Bank of Scotland, Intelligent Finance, Birmingham Midshires and Clerical Medical.

HBOS hit problems installing Windows XP on 70,000 desktops and 5,000 laptops in a project that began last year and is part of a bigger programme to create a common banking platform, estimated to be costing more than £100m.
