The Commission for Rural Communities has adopted a mobile e-mail and data management service to improve employee communications and their productivity.
The commission, an operating division of the Countryside Agency, has taken the MobilePA system from Sirenic.
MobilePA will enable the commission's staff to access and respond to e-mail on the move, manage their diaries, view related information from the commission’s customer relationship management system, and receive regular news on relevant issues.
MobilePA sits within the commission’s existing IBM IT infrastructure, using IBM’s Websphere Everyplace Connection Manager to provide a secure and efficient connection for moving data between the enterprise and mobile users.
Jonathan Ballinger, commission IT, finance and estates manager, said, “Travel features heavily in the lives of our workforce and MobilePA will help us to use the time to best effect, eradicating downtime and significantly improving productivity.”
Ballinger said that trials had revealed that staff had saved up to 12 hours per week from using the system.
