Latest edition of glossary lifts the lid on IT jargon

John Kavanagh

More than 3,000 computing terms are explained in the 11th edition of the BCS Glossary of ICT and Computing Terms, which has just been published.

The glossary has been a standard for computing courses, and courses on which computers are used, from GCSE level upwards for 20 years.

The latest edition has been updated to cover new areas such as sound, digital imaging and security.

The structure links related terms together, so that the definitions are always placed in context to help understanding.

The glossary assumes no previous knowledge and uses simple language and numerous illustrations.

The 470-page book costs £18.99. Online orders can receive a 25% discount.
