Altiris said its software reduces the cost and complexity of tracking, supporting and maintaining corporate IT assets, including desktops, notebooks, servers and handheld devices.
"We were seeking a comprehensive solution to reduce the cost of managing our technology infrastructure," said Jerry Havemann, Cargill's vice president of IT.
"Altiris offered a single, integrated solution that addresses all of our IT management needs with the breadth and depth of functionality that we need. A combined Altiris and Dell solution is just what we needed to optimise our IT systems and deliver increased value and efficiencies to our employees."
Altiris said its product will help Cargill save money by managing its IT environment more efficiently.
Cargill will also use the latest version of Altiris Recovery Solution for integrated delivery of backup and disaster recovery capabilities to its Dell Precision, Latitude and OptiPlex customers.
