JD Edwards has rolled out its latest CRM application designed to speed the made-to-order product sales process.

JD Edwards has rolled out its latest CRM application designed to speed the made-to-order product sales process.

The Advanced Order Configurator has been enhanced to allow sales representatives and customers to visualise multiple designs of products.

Features include a rules manager designed to simplify the custom configuration of products when introducing new products and automated catalogue translation capabilities to support global configuration needs.

It is also compatible with CAD products, which will allow customers to spatially configure or lay out configured items in a drawing to shorten sales cycles

"It's all about having real-time feedback at the time you are sitting with a customer," said Joel Reed, director of CRM product marketing at JD Edwards.

"[It supports] directed selling where you can ask a question and based on the response go down the proper path. I can be intelligent in front of that customer. I have the opportunity to upsell and cross sell. It's very visual. When you put something in wrong, it immediately responds that that is not acceptable," he said.

The configurator is the most recent release from the CRM product line of the JD Edwards 5 solution family. Other CRM applications include sales force automation, contact centre, customer self-service, field service management, partner relationship management and storefronts.
