The product integrates the recently acquired YouCentric CRM system with JD Edwards's OneWorld and WorldSoftware ERP applications. JD Edwards completed its $86m (£59m) purchase of YouCentric in November. The ERP and CRM packages need to be purchased separately, but have been pre-integrated.
Version 1.1 provides users with the ability to know and fulfill customer needs through real-time integration with the ERP applications. It also supports a unified business process to handle customer interactions including sales leads, price quotes, order entry, delivery and billing.
Through the new integrated system, a sales representative could access leads generated by the marketing department and convert them to prospects in the sales force automation application. JD Edwards said customers could track their order using the company's Web-based Customer Self-Service application.
JD Edwards' CRM applications share data with ERP applications to enable users to operate on the same information. To connect business functions between CRM and ERP applications, the company is utilising its Extended Process Integration (XPI) technology and Data Model Inheritance capabilities.
JD Edwards plans to integrate its CRM package with its Advanced Order Configurator and Advanced Planning applications in 2002. CRM 1.1 is shipping now.
