“We have a large consignment coming in the next few days and will be able to fulfil back orders in the next few weeks,” claimed Ashley Ford, regional director for UK, Ireland and Benelux at Xerox OPB.
Ford blamed the shortages on recent price reductions and the unprecedented demand it had experienced.
But he refuted suggestions the forthcoming transfer of stock to Xerox’s warehouse would cause further delays.
“We have been going through a number of changes in terms of stock management in the Netherlands. I can understand the resellers’ point of view and we need to demonstrate that our house is in order,” said Ford.
But Chris Pile, managing director at reseller Maxi Million, revealed the vendor had promised to resolve the situation in December, “months after the problem first appeared”. “With its logistical resources, how can it get it so wrong?” he added.
Hugo Kirby, managing director at Trams, insisted Xerox OPB was not on its radar: “Other suppliers appear to have better products, prices and channel management.”
