HDS Australia CTO moves to Cisco

Hitachi Data Systems' chief technology officer Simon Elisha is leaving the company to take up a position at Cisco.

Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) Australian Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Simon Elisha is leaving the company and moving to Cisco.

Elisha announced the move on his LinkedIn profile, stating he "has taken up an exciting new role at Cisco - starting January!"

HDS Australia's Tim Smith said the company is considering whether or not to hire a new CTO as it has recently hired a Director of Pre-sales and that role included many of Elisha's previous responsibilities. Adrian de Luca, the company's APAC Director of Software Sales returned to Australia "a few weeks ago," Smith added, and possesses many of the skills required to fill the portions of a CTO's role not covered by the new Director of Pre-Sales.

"We have the same capability," Smith said. "HDS Australia has good depth of talent."
