EMC refreshes Clariion, Celerra

EMC has announced it supports 2TB drives in its midrange arrays, increasing their density.

EMC has announced a refresh of its CLARiiON CX4 and EMC Celerra Gateway products and says the new arrays now boast "twice the capacity of previous systems in half the floor space ...".

CLARiiON systems can now reach "390 2TB, 5,400 and 7,200 RPM SATA drives and high performance flash drives in a single rack," EMC said in a press release issued today.

EMC says the new devices are a respnse to its customers finding data centre space at a premium, necessitating more storage in the same space occupied by existing systems.

The new products are on sale as of today.
