Cabinet Office announces senior IT team

The team in charge of central government IT has been announced by the Cabinet Office.

Government CIO John Suffolk is heading up the team with responsibility for the government's IT strategy, the G-Cloud project and the application store.

Bill McCluggage is the deputy CIO and director of the IT strategy and policy. His deputy will be Rachel Gentry who has worked on IT policy since June 2009.

Former IS director at Atkins, Lesley Hume is director of shared ICT infrastructure. She oversees a team of five, including Neill Goulder who is deputy director of IT service delivery and John Stubley, deputy director of public service network programme.

Chris Chant moves from the department of environment, food and rural affairs to become director of the government cloud programme. He will work with Andrew Tait, the deputy director of data strategy, G-Cloud and the app store.
