NPfIT: Fujitsu may not be replaced

The current thinking in Whitehall seems to be not to replace Fujitsu as the local service provider for the south of England on the NHS’s National Programme for IT.

Trust boards that need to make decisions on replacement of core systems in the short term are likely to be offered a choice of CSC or BT as their local service provider. While officials consider what’s to happen in the longer term, they’ve taken no firm decision on whether to use ASCC as the alternative to CSC or BT.
