Broadband gets political

Broadband is rising up the political agenda and you can help with a bit of direct action.

MPs Theresa May, shadow leader of the House of Commons, and Mark Durkan, Social Democratic & Labour Party MP, have both filed separate petitions for a debate on how rural areas can get better broadband and how ISPs can be made to advertise their broadband packages more transparently.

You can view the petition on rural areas here and the one for better advertising here.

E-mail your local MP with these two links and ask him/her to support these ‘Early Day Motions (EDMs)’ as they’re known in Westminster.

If broadband is a problem in your town, make your local MP aware of these EDMs. If you don’t know who your local MP is you can find out here.

If your local MP doesn’t support it and broadband is a problem where you live email me.
