From 27 November, Vodafone Group will begin offering customers a set of uniform fees for mobile data services in all of its Western Europe networks.
Under the new tariff scheme, which applies to both business and private customers, 100Kbytes of data will cost €0.59 (40p) in addition to a connection fee of €0.40 (28p), said the company.
"Apart from the fact that customers will know exactly what they are paying to send and receive data in every one of our networks, they will also save money in several countries," a Vodafone spokesman said.
Vodafone offers a range of mobile data packages for both business and private users. The services are available via a number of network technologies with varying speeds, including HSCSD (High Speed Circuit Switched Data), WLan and GPRS.
Vodafone provides GPRS service in more than 30 countries, by far the leading provider of the high-speed packet switched wireless service.
As part of the new fee programme, Vodafone customers without a fixed mobile data package can make GPRS calls via the company's Live! portal for €0.29 (20p) per 10Kbytes of data.
In addition, customers making mobile data calls to networks outside the Vodafone group will no longer have to pay a termination fee of €1.16 per megabyte.
The price of mobile call to a non-Vodafone network will include three additional fees: the local operator's fee for the call, a 25% processing fee and an additional €0.09 per hour connection fee.
