AMD's Dresden plant escapes flooding
Advanced Micro Devices' chip fabrication plant in Dresden is operating normally despite severe flooding in central Europe this...
The plant, which is AMD's primary location for chip production, is located on high ground far enough away from the River Elbe to be out of danger. The facility has its own power generator and is working closely with city officials to ensure the water supply remains in working order.
Around 2,000 employees work at the plant. Evacuations have been ordered for certain residents of Dresden, but most of AMD's employees showed up for work.
