With the new Informix database software, global companies, for the first time, can both warehouse their Informix data and conduct "ultra-fast online transactions with a simplified software platform", said Big Blue.
The Informix Warehouse Feature is now available to Informix customers worldwide.
IBM said the combination of the two capabilities in one offering can help create new intelligence to grow businesses, lower costs by making it easier to use existing Informix infrastructure and help clients work up to 50% more efficiently.
IBM Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) is a strategic element of IBM's information management software portfolio, which includes database management software designed to deliver fast online transaction processing performance and low-cost administration.
