Viatel offers international network service to boost speeds

Cliff Saran
Viatel has introduced an international wide area network service, called Viatel Ethernet, which aims to provide local area network speeds across a wireless network.

The company said businesses using Viatel Ethernet would be able to run their data, internet, voice and video applications on a single company network, helping to reduce costs.

Viatel is offering network speeds from 1mbps up to gigabit speeds and bandwidth increments of 1mbps, 5mbps, 10mbps and 50mbps.

Viatel Ethernet is available UK-wide and in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Germany and the US.

The service is based on Viatel's resilient core network and can be integrated with Viatel's other IP VPN, internet access, hosting and security services.

The company has partnered with Huawei and Juniper to provide network equipment for the service.
