Lloyds TSB set for major deal with Fujitsu

Fujitsu Services is on the verge of signing a multimillion-pound distributed IT systems contract with Lloyds TSB.

The bank signed a £500m voice and data network contract with IBM at the end of last year, and IBM is also believed to have made a bid for the work Fujitsu is now negotiating contract terms on.

A Lloyds TSB representative said, "Lloyds TSB can confirm that it is in negotiation with Fujitsu for the provision of IT support for its distributed computing environment. No contracts have been signed and discussions between Fujitsu and Lloyds TSB are continuing.

"The bank regularly reviews its business and operations to ensure efficiency. We have recently reviewed our Distributed Computing Environment (DCE)."
