The specification, which is also known as Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL4WS), is intended to provide a way to describe business processes constructed as a collection of web services and automate web services interactions.
Microsoft, IBM, BEA Systems and SAP are among the companies supporting the standard. Novell will implement BPEL in a future release of Novell exteNd Composer Process Manager, a business process manager that ships with Novell's web application development suite, Novell exteNd.
