Rackspace grabs dotcom veteran for Euro expansion

Hosted computing supplier Rackspace has hired former Amazon and eBay European operations director David Kelly to lead its expansion drive into the Continent, Middle East, Africa and Asia, and to take on Google and Amazon.

Kelly joins Rackspace from mydeco, the online furniture and interior decoration firm that he started with Brent Hobermann, lastminute.com's founder, after the online travel aggregator was bought by Travelocity.

He replaces Brian Thomson who will go back to the Rackspace US office to head new projects.

While at mydeco, Kelly was a Rackspace customer.
