Oil company BHP Billiton Petroleum has signed a five-year $53m IT services contract with CSC.

Under the agreement, CSC will manage global IT operations for BHP Billiton Petroleum, which is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and has operations and offices in ten countries.

The contract covers enterprise-wide infrastructure, which includes helpdesk, desktop, network, high-performance computing and telecommunications services, as well as applications management.

"We are pleased to expand our existing relationship with CSC in signing this new contract," said Zhanna Golodryga, BHP Billiton Petroleum vice-president and chief information officer. "The agreement provides scalable services to Petroleum and will enhance the IT experience for our users."

CSC has provided IT support services to various organisations within BHP Billiton for the past eight years.
